Aerial
Division:
Aerial applicators control insects, weeds and diseases. They can
“plant” seeds from the air, fertilize, and add nutrients to the
soil. Today’s aircraft use the latest technology (GPS) Global
Positioning Satellite. Sophisticated dispersal systems
monitoring flow rates for optimum dispersal; and calibration
software that assures the correct application of
highly-selective agricultural chemicals. When pests or disease
threaten a crop, time is critical. Aerial application is often
the fastest means of getting the necessary protection products
to the affected crop. It can also be the most economical, as
less fuel is used. And it can be more environmentally friendly,
too, as its use reduces soil erosion by as much as 90 percent,
by assisting no-till or minimum till operations which preserve
the integrity of the soil.
Ground Division:
Chemical pesticides remain the most popular and powerful tool
for pest management despite the implementation of other
alternative methods. In modern agriculture, most of the
pesticides used for crop protection are mixed with water, which
acts as the carrier for the chemical material. To apply these
chemicals as a spray solution, ground sprayers are the most
widely used type of liquid applicators in agriculture. These
sprayers are primarily used to control weeds, insect pests, and
fungi in field crops. In some cases they can also be used to
apply liquid fertilizers. We currently use Case IH 4420 ground
sprayers.
